Hi All -
This week we continue our discussion of how to become a better defender. Specifically, we focus on "figuring out" what we know about the declarer's hand from the auction. But this is not as simple as it seems because understanding an auction requires figuring out what the opponents would do with certain types of hands. In order to understand the opponents' auctions we look at what questions we should ask before making our opening lead to help us understand what the declarer's hand is likely to look like.
I suspect you will find these auctions familiar, but that these follow-up questions for possible inferences may be new and hopefully helpful!
