Happy New Year Everyone!
I’m excited to announce a lot of new teaching events this coming year and to let you know that there are many more to come - please get in touch if you’d like me to come teaching in your area!
For this month we are returning to our traditional January topic of "Bidding Philosophy”.
1 (299) Passing with Good Hands
2 (300) Negative Doubles vs. Positive Freebids
3 (301) Hand Evaluation Opposite Preemptive Openings
4 (302) Responding to 3-Level Preempts
This week we look at times when in the auction it is reasonable to pass holding a good hand - especially in competitive auctions. We have become trained to want to bid anytime we hold about 12 HCP. Though this is often a good idea, there are times when the best action is to pass, even when we hold a decent hand.
I hope that I get to see many of you at teaching events coming up soon!
Robert
