I hope that everyone (or most of us) are recovering from our weekend of “springing forward” and having an hour less of sleep.
This week we look at an additional tool to use. In competitive bidding auctions we want to have as many ways as possible to take away the opponents’ bidding space. This is particularly true when we have a large fit for partner’s suit. Here we look at how to add a mixed raise to a large variety of different auctions. Giving up a natural bid in favor of a more commonly useful raise of partner’s suit is an effective exchange.
